Concept Statement
The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of America is to enable young people to reach their fullest potential. This mission paired with the mountainous landscape surrounding the location leads to the concept, “E L E V A T E,” which will inform the design of the new BGCA headquarters. Using diagonal lines and progressive rhythm as well as a careful exploration of negative space, the office will exude the vision of the organization. Hexagonal shapes and accents of blue will help reinforce the BGCA brand and inspire staff and visitors alike. Harmonious contrast in fixtures, furniture, and equipment, as well as strategic office layouts, will acknowledge that BGCA supports children from all walks of life in their endeavor to create a brighter future. Drawing on the concept “elevate,” the space will reflect both what the Boys & Girls Clubs of America has already accomplished and what it hopes to achieve in the future.

Based on the hierarchical model of BGCA, senior officers are placed in private offices on major circulation pathways and within close proximity to their team to increase efficiency.

An engaging office environment using a person-centered approach features ergonomic desk spaces, customizable work zones, modular social spaces, and an ecosystem of workgroups.

Centrally located within the office space, the hexagonal atrium connects both floors within the suite. This feature is inspired by the Boys & Girls Clubs’ logo and is designed to be both a focal element and a gathering place for social engagement.
